Hardware Specifications

  • Input Channels
The system comes standard with simultaneously sampled 24-bit input A/D's with 120dB dynamic range. The input impedance is 100k ohms. Accelerometer constant current source and TEDS are standard on all channels. 1 to 32 channels, configured in blocks of 4.
  • Output Channels
The system comes standard with two 24-bit output D/A's with 100dB signal to (noise+distortion) ratio. Outputs are low impedance with a range of 20-volts peak-to-peak.
  • Ethernet Interface
The system communicates to the PC using a standard Ethernet port. This eliminates the need for special cables and cards. This also gives much more flexibility in the location of the controller.
  • 24-bit Accuracy
The 24 bit A/D and D/A converters on the 8500 gives it the ability to resolve signals 120dB apart.
  • TEDS Interface
The 8500 supports the IEEE standard for Transducer Electronic Data Sheet accelerometers.
  • High Frequency (Optional)
Allows control past 4,000 Hz. Sine, Random, and Shock control to 20,000 Hz. FDR control to 10,000 Hz.
  • Calibration Standard
Calibrate the 8500 system hardware in your own calibration laboratory, manually, using your own calibration instruments and the VR661 System Hardware Calibration software. Or, perform automatic calibration verification of your 8500 system with the combination of (optional) VR8500-AC Calibration Equipment Package, (optional) VR669 System
